Two Years with Moose

I adopted Moose two years ago today. He would be my first puppy and a catalyst for big changes in my life. Looking back on the past two years, I can’t believe how much we have both grown in this time.

So much happened after his arrival, including breaking my foot three days later. But I pushed through that setback and began a training journey with Moose that continues to this day, going beyond the classroom to everyday life.

His presence demanded changes and growth from all of us, and each of us grew in our own ways alongside Moose on his path from puppy to adulthood. Raising Moose has been both difficult and tiring, but always rewarding.

I’ve learned so much about letting go and lightening up through Moose, but I’ve also learned so much about pushing through setbacks and past my self-inflicted limits. Getting stronger at both ends of this dichotomy has been a game changer for me, whether in dog training, in my fitness pursuits or in daily life.

Each dog that has entered my life has come with timely lessons, seemingly arriving to teach me what I needed to learn at that moment in time. I’m so thankful Moose arrived when he did and for all of the growth and inspiration he brought into my life since then.

A perpetual puppy, Moose keeps me on my toes while keeping the mood light, and this seems to be his superpower. Happy anniversary to the mighty Moose! All of our lights shine brighter because of you. ❤️
