September Shake Up

I spent the day soaking up the final hours of September sunshine. This September has been unusually sunny and warm and I’ve been savoring the unexpected weather all month. But September also brought setbacks.

Persistent low back pain has plagued me all month. After a visit with a sports medicine doc last week, I learned I have an aggravated SI joint and hamstring tendonitis (literally a pain in the butt).

I start PT this week and will be getting cortisone shots soon. In the meantime, I’m sidelined from running, and modifying my lifting workouts. Moose also had a setback during his recovery from knee surgery and I’ve been working hard to get him back on track.

I’m taking the setbacks in stride and have been shaking things up. I’ve filled my down time with fun photo shoots in the gorgeous September sunshine and replaced running with long walks in my favorite places.

I’m ending the month solar charged and ready for whatever October brings.
