Moose is Two Today
Moose’s second birthday came with some rainy weather and bad news from the vet. He began limping over the weekend so I called the vet and got Dr J’s first available, which happened to land on his birthday today.
After a thorough exam and a consult with an ortho specialist at the same vet clinic, I learned that Moose has a torn ACL in the right rear leg that requires surgery. His surgery is scheduled for July 9 and I have the tall task of keeping him inactive between now and then so it doesn’t get worse.
Despite the bad news, we celebrated his birthday with cake for everyone. Beforehand, I got today’s photo of Moose, whose easy smile speaks volumes about his resilience and worldview. His bouncy demeanor has always been a source of inspiration for me, but now more than ever.
