Moose Moves from Rest to Rehab

Moose had his three week post-op appointment with the vet today and she is very pleased with his progress. We are now moving on to the rehab stage of his recovery, and will be increasing his activity level in a controlled fashion.

His rehab is primarily focused on leash walking and will also include a variety of movements such as pivoting motions and backing up. The vet is recommending daily leash walks of up to thirty minutes in duration.

We took our first walk this afternoon at Crosswinds Marsh. Of my three dogs, Moose is the best on the trail, and I’m encouraged that he will be able to join me on more strenuous hikes once he is fully healed. For now, I’m thrilled that he has been cleared for this increase in activity, and looking forward to daily walks with the perfect trail dog.
