Living and Loving the Lifting Life

I started lifting weights in 2019, just a few months shy of my 51st birthday. I was recovering from injuries incurred over a lifetime of running, and looking for a new fitness focus. It was love at first lift for me and I’ve been lifting religiously since that moment.

Today, my entire life revolves around strength training and I have fully embraced the lifestyle, which is an around the clock cycle of exercise, nutrition and rest. And after taking five years off from running, I’m back on the trail and thrilled to have my first love back in my life.

Through strength training, I have transformed my body, but the most amazing transformations were more spiritual in nature. Getting leaner made me hungrier for life. Getting stronger made me more resilient for all the life throws at me. Taking care of my body made me more grounded and present. The entire process made me more patient with myself and others.

I share my active lifestyle with my beloved canine sidekicks, Rocky, Ringo and Moose. I created this blog to capture our daily adventures and my fitness journey.
